Putnam County Land Trust Announces 2016 Bluebell Festival
The PCLT Bluebell Festival takes place Saturday, May 7 with festivities beginning at 7:45 a.m.

From Putnam County Land Trust:
Blue Bells are the blue flowers that carpet the forest floor in spring – taking advantage of the fact that the trees are still leafless and sunlight still reaches the forest floor. Their color reminds us how glorious spring can be! Come join PCLT in celebrating the beauty of nature at the BlueBell Festival on Saturday, May 7.
Festivities will start at 7:45 a.m. with “Breakfast with the Birds.” Guests will meet at 40 Abbeyfield Ln. in Brewster near the Dextra Baldwin McGonagle Preserve for a guided bird walk along the wetlands of the Ice Pond Basin. Then, enjoy a bountiful breakfast filled with what else? Bird talk.

Admission and activities are free and will include petting zoo from Piped Piper Pony Rides, face painting and children’s craft activities prepared by the Chuckie Goodnight Foundation. There will also be a spring woodland wildflower guided walk at 2 p.m.
Reservations are required for the “Breakfast with the Birds,” and space is limited. The cost for the breakfast is $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers. Afternoon activities at PCLT headquarters are free admission and open to the public.
