Putnam Hospital Center Participates in American Cancer Society Relays

The relay events are scheduled for Saturday, June 4 through Sunday, June 5 in Mahopac and as well as Saturday, June 11 in Patterson.

Putnam Hospital Center is a strong advocate of the American Cancer Society and its mission and will support the community by taking part in the Society’s Relay for Life fundraisers held in two Putnam County towns, Mahopac and Patterson.

The hospital, a Health Quest affiliate, is a presenting sponsor at the Relay for Life in Mahopac from June 4-5. In addition, the hospital will have a team with Education Coordinator Sarena Chisick and Oncology Nurse Navigator Dianne Toscano as co-captains.

Putnam Hospital Center is also a gold sponsor of the Relay for Life in Patterson on June 11. The hospital also has a Patterson Relay team with John Mahoney, administrative secretary of the Behavioral Health unit, serving as captain.

It takes a community to find a cure for cancer and Chisick, Toscano and Mahoney said they hope many of the employees and their families join the hospital’s teams to support this vital endeavor.

“Cancer affects everyone,” Chisick said. “We want to raise as much money as possible to put an end to this disease.”

“The relays are a fun way to get together and form a united front against this dreaded disease that impacts all of us,” Mahoney said.

Toscano also wants to remind folks, “The American Cancer Society saves lives! They fund research, cancer education and prevention and provide services for our cancer patients and community.”

Please consider joining forces with Putnam Hospital Center on one or both teams to show a commitment to the community and to come one step closer to a cancer-free world.

Membership and donating to the Mahopac and Patterson teams are available through the Putnam Hospital Center Relay webpages.
