Abatemarco also chaired the town's Historic Sites Commission. His term was due to expire at the end of 2026.
"Dean Abatemarco has been a member of the Town’s Historic Sites Committee for the past eight years and the Town Historian for the past two," Supervisor Tony Hay told Patch. "During this time Dean unselfishly donated and committed his time from their friends and family to serve on the Town’s Historic Sites Committee and Town Historian interpreting the history of our town as well as preserving the history for future generations. The Town will expect a similar commitment of the next Town Historian."
