Support Connection, Inc. Announces Free Yoga Program for Women Living with Cancer
The program takes place Saturdays from noon to 1:30 p.m. beginning May 7.

Support Connection, Inc. has announced a free program, “Yoga: A Path Toward Wellness,” which takes place on Saturdays from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Club Fit in Jefferson Valley and is open to women living with breast, ovarian and gynecological cancers. Experience the benefits of yoga: a stronger healthier body and a calmer, more focused mind. Emphasis is on movement with breath awareness to achieve a tranquil feeling, and the program is appropriate for beginners or advance students. Come weekly or as often as you’d like. Interested participants must obtain their doctors' approval before participating in any wellness program.

Instructor Mia Azcue, CYT, E-RYT 500, RPT has been a yoga student and teacher for more than 20 years and has taught classes for Support Connection for more than 10 years. She is certified by the American Viniyoga Institute as a yoga teacher and a yoga therapist. She is also a NYS-licensed physical therapist. Azcue’s training enables her to assist each person with any physical, emotional and/or spiritual challenges she may be facing.
Support Connection, Inc. is a 501 (C) (3) not-for-profit organization that provides free, confidential support services and programs to people affected by breast and ovarian cancer. Founded in 1996, Support Connection is based in Yorktown Heights, but through our toll-free hotline and website, we serve people throughout the country. Services include one-on-one peer counseling and support groups, offering women the opportunity to connect with other cancer survivors, ongoing wellness classes, holistic health workshops, public educational programs, information and referral services as well as a toll-free, cancer information and support hotline (1-800-532-4290).
