Town Releases Details of 'SHOP': Southeast Heating Oil Plan
One of the vendors is located in Brewster. A surcharge comes with orders below a certain number of gallons.

Southeast residents purchasing heating oil in preparation for the winter months have a new option to consider, thanks to an agreement between the Town and four area businesses.
The companies, which are located in Putnam and Westchester counties, have agreed to a deal that ensures local folks will not pay more than 35 cents over the daily wholesale rate paid by the vendor.
"Vendors further agree to guarantee that the members’ reduced cost shall be lower than the Vendors’ available daily retail rate," a document on the Town website reads. "Due to daily fluctuations in the price of home heating oil, members should contact all vendors to determine their daily rate. Members should also verify with vendors, prior to delivery, the cost per gallon to be paid on the date of delivery."

A minimum order amount of 150 gallons applies, as does a surcharge for a delivery that comes in below that number.
Officials have outlined several stipulations in the document. The first reads: "Residents of the Town of Southeast shall all be considered enrolled in the SHOP."
