Brazen Thieves Steal Refrigerator From Brooklyn Restaurant, NYPD Says

Police said the group snuck into the now-closed Friendship BBQ in Sunset Park around 1 a.m. and made off with a refrigerator.

BROOKLYN, NY — The old “is your refrigerator running?” joke took on a real-life twist after police began searching for suspects in an early-morning burglary at a closed Brooklyn restaurant.

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a group accused of breaking into Friendship BBQ, a shuttered Sunset Park restaurant, and stealing a refrigerator early on Dec. 8.

Authorities said the suspects entered the restaurant at 770 50th Street around 1 a.m., using keys to get through the front door before making off with the fridge.
