DIY Tech Manufacturing Company Moves Into Brooklyn Army Terminal

Brooklyn Army Terminal's newest tenant will bring affordable manufacturing for small businesses, according to the city.

SUNSET PARK, BROOKLYN — The newest tenant at the Brooklyn Army Terminal in Sunset Park is TechShop, a sort of DIY tech and manufacturing space to give small businesses access to top-of the line software and tools.

For around $200 a month, members will get access to 3D printers, laser cutters, plastics and electronics labs, a machine shop, a woodshop, a metalworking shop, a textiles department, welding stations, and more, according to the city's Economic Development Corporation, which manages the army terminal. TechShop will give away 100 free memberships per year to community members.

The San Jose-based company will take up 20,500 square feet at the Brooklyn Army Terminal.
