FDNY EMT Threatened Co-worker For Sleeping In His Bed, Police Say

Richard Cuccurullo, 25, was charged with aggravated harassment after he threatened to stab his co-worker for sleeping in his bed.

SUNSET PARK, NY — An EMT for the FDNY was arrested after he threatened to stab a co-worker with a "rusty screwdriver" for sleeping in his bed at work, according to police and reports.

Richard Cuccurullo, 25, was arrested in Sunset Park shortly after midnight on Monday and charged with aggravated harassment for sending the threatening message, a spokesman for the NYPD said.

EMTs for the FDNY work all day shifts and sleep in beds inside the station. Cuccurullo was unhappy that a co-worker used his bed and posted a Facebook message saying "If you sleep in my bed again, I'll stab you with a rusty screwdriver," NBC 4 reported.

He then wrote that if the stabbing didn't kill the co-worker, tetanus from the screwdriver would, according to the news station.

The FDNY did not immediately have a comment on Cuccurullo's arrest.
