2 Teenagers Die In Wrong Way Crash In Nassau: Police

JERICHO, NY — Two 14-year-olds died in a wrong-way crash Wednesday night in Jericho, and police arrested a Roslyn man, who they said was driving under the influence.

Around 10:20 p.m., Amandeep Singh, 34, of Roslyn, was driving a 2019 Dodge Ram southbound in the northbound lanes on North Broadway, Nassau County police said.

The Dodge collided with a 2019 Alfa Romero with four teen boys inside.

Two teenagers suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, police said.

The two other teens, ages 16 and 17, were taken to a hospital with internal injuries and were listed in stable condition, police said.

After the initial collision, police said the Alpha Romero then struck a 2023 Volvo, occupied by a 49-year-old woman and a 16 -year-old boy.

They were treated at the scene for minor injuries and released, police said.

Singh, was arrested and taken to a hospital with minor injuries. He faces charges of aggravated vehicular homicide, first-degree vehicular manslaughter, second-degree manslaughter, leaving the scene of an auto accident with a fatality, DWI and two counts of second-degree assault, police said.

He was scheduled to appear in court Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.

A previous version of this article stated that Amandeep Singh drove a 2019 Alpha Romero. Nassau County Police later confirmed with Patch that the correct spelling is "Alfa Romero."
