Driver Seriously Hurt After Striking School Bus In Syosset

No children were on the bus at the time of the crash, police say.

A driver suffered serious injuries after police say she struck a school bus in Seaford on Friday afternoon.

According to authorities, a 47-year-old woman driving a 2009 Honda was attempting to turn onto the Long Island Expressway from the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway ramp, when she struck a school bus at 12:05 p.m.

The school bus driver, who was the only person on board, did not suffer any injuries. The driver of the Honda was airlifted to an area hospital to be treated for serious injuries.
