Snow Expected in Syosset Sunday Night, Monday Morning

The first few days of March promise to be a wintry mess.

Snow is back in the forecast for Long Island.

The National Weather Service is currently projecting 1-2 inches of snow to fall across the island Sunday night into Monday morning. The lowest amounts are likely along the South Shore.

No ice accumulation is expected, but the snow could still make for a slick Monday morning commute. The temperature on Monday will approach 40 so any snow that does accumulate shouldn’t stick around for long.

Another storm system will impact the area Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday. Warmer air should keep it from being an all-snow event, the NWS says.

Snow is expected to begin Tuesday afternoon and then transition to rain Tuesday night into Wednesday.
