SYOSSET, NY — Syosset native Harrison Cohen has achieved a lifelong dream, and signed a free-agent deal with the New York Yankees.

Cohen attended George Washington University, where he was a pitcher on the school's baseball team for five years.

In his final season, he was named to the A-10 All-Conference Second Team. He ended the year ranked in the top-10 in five conference pitching categories, including first in innings pitched and second in strikeouts.

He also ranked 18th in the George Washington program history in total strikeouts and 19th in wins.

Cohen also played for the Cotuit Kettleers, a team in Cape Cod.
