SYOSSET, NY; JULY 7, 2014 – Christine Malloy of Syosset, NY was presented with the New York State PTA Honorary Life Membership Award during a recent Berry Hill Elementary School PTA meeting in recognition of her active work within the school’s PTA. Since having joined Berry Hill’s PTA seven years ago in support of her children and their school, Malloy’s contributions include heading the PTA’s Website Committee, where she helped Berry Hill Elementary School PTA launch its own website, providing an online informational portal for Berry Hill parents. She has also been a catalyst in helping neighboring elementary school PTAs establish independent websites of their own.
“While I am honored to have personally received this recognition, I must share this award with my fellow PTA members and community since none of my contributions would be possible without their great help and support,” says Malloy, who serves on Berry Hill’s PTA in between her work as a realtor with Homes By Mara Realty in Syosset. “While serving on the PTA can be often time consuming, especially while juggling work and a family, we are all willing to take initiative and go that extra mile because of the love, passion and dedication we all mutually have for our children, school and community.”
Sharing in Malloy’s appreciation for Berry Hill’s students and PTA is Malloy’s employer, Mara Navaretta, President of Homes By Mara Realty, another PTA parent whose daughter also attends Berry Hill Elementary. As part of her recognition, Malloy was granted honorary Life Membership within New York State Congress of Parents And Teachers, Inc./New York State PTA, along with a donation made in her honor that will help fund two teacher education scholarships.
