Elderly Woman Dies After Fall at Care Center

The case was under investigation by the County Medical Examiner's Office.

A worker from Tarrytown Hall Care Center called Tarrytown police to report that an elderly resident at facility had fallen and bumped her head on April 6 at 7:25 a.m.

Tarrytown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported the woman to Phelps Memorial Hospital.

The Westchester County Medical Examiner’s Office reported to police on April 7 at 7:18 p.m. that the woman had died and the case would be under their investigation.

The office performed an autopsy on April 8 and ruled it a "natural death," a ME spokesperson told Patch. The woman, who was 91, had died of hemorrhaging in her brain, she said.
