Sleepy Hollow: Spring Clean Up Days

Where: Douglas Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and The Community Garden on College and Valley Street, from 10 a.m. to noon

Description: Various ways to help improve Sleepy Hollow this Saturday: The Douglas Park (at the end of New Broadway) 'I Love My Park' Clean Up Day is part of the state-wide parks beautification initiative. "Help us prepare the park and playground for the season. Bring snacks, picnic lunch - gardening gloves and insect repellent."

That morning is also Sleepy Hollow's Community Garden opening celebration, with the Mayor grilling lunch for volunteers. Face painting, craft project, BBQ. Villagers will clean up Sykes park, Valley and Cortlandt Streets, meeting before and after at the garden at College and Valley streets. This also coincides with the second (they just keep celebrating!) afternoon grand opening of the great new grocery store at Valley and College Streets, with music, free inflatable rides for kids, giveaways like hot dogs and more.

Sleepy Hollow: Friends of Music Concerts Presents Benjamin Beilman

Where: Sleepy Hollow High School, 210 N Broadway, Sleepy Hollow

When: Saturday, May 4, 2013, 8 p.m.

Cost: $30

Description: Violinist Benjamin Beilman, together with his piano collaborator Yekwon Sunwoo, will perform works by Francis Poulenc, Johannes Brahms, Olivier Messiaen and Franz Schubert. Beilman is the recipient of Friends of Music Concerts’ Fourth Performance Award. Tarrytown: Spring Crafts at Lyndhurst

Where: Lyndhurst, 635 S Broadway, Tarrytown

When: Friday, Saturday and Sunday May 3, 4 and 5 from 10 a.m to 5 p.m.

Description: The Hudson Valley's most popular craft show returns to Tarrytown for its 29th year. Discover the unique designs and creative artistry of over 275 leading artists and craftspeople, from across the country, as they exhibit, sell and talk about their contemporary handcrafted works of art. Collectors, art enthusiasts and discerning shoppers will enjoy the rare opportunity to meet these visionary artists and purchase their latest work. The show includes one-of-a-kind and limited edition jewelry, fashion and accessories, furniture,and home décor pieces, as well as functional and sculptural work in ceramics, glass, metal, painting, photography, wood and mixed media. Despite its name, the fair offers more than just crafts. Visitors can also eat in our new expanded food court, purchase specialty foods and participate in children's activities throughout the weekend.

Description: Saint Augustine’s Episcopal Church will host the St. A’s 5K Run/Walk to Squash Hunger on Saturday, May 4th at 9am. Race proceeds will benefit the Cortlandt Emergency Food Bank. Race registration and start/finish line will be at Senasqua Park, Elliot Way, Croton on Hudson.

Dobbs Ferry: Garden Club Plant Sale

Katonah: Spotlight Theater Presents Young Frankenstein

Description: Spotlight Theater presents the Mel Brooks musical. Dr. Frankenstein aims to fulfill his grandfather's legacy by bringing a corpse back to life. With help and hindrance from servant Igor, buxom assistant Inga and needy fiancée Elizabeth, his experiment yields success and unexpected consequences.

Katonah: Fiber Arts Trunk Show

Description: A sale of Quilts, Fiber Art, Hooked Rugs, Jewelry and more will benefit the Katonah Museum of Art.

Pleasantville: JCC Children's Carnival

Where: Rosenthal Jewish Community Center of Northern Westchester

When: Sunday, May 5 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cost: Free entry, tickets for rides and games are $20/25 tickets or $50/65 tickets
