Tarrytown Police investigate two separate homes with suspiciously open doors.

Door Open, Officer Down
A Tarrytown police officer was injured when searching a dark house, police report.
An officer reported on April 6 at 9:39 p.m. finding an open door to a dark house at Millbrook Avenue. The officer reportedly found no signs of forced entry.

While searching the inside of the building, an officer said he fell down a set of stairs, injuring his right arm and leg.
The residence was secured by police, who notified the homeowner as well as the police chief, and the injured officer was taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Door Open, Faucet Running
A caller reported to police that an abandoned house on Grove Street had its front door open on April 7 at 4:59 p.m. Officers checked the house and found that the kitchen faucet was running and water had been overflowing into the house. Officers shut off the water valve in the basement and alerted the building department.
