TaSH Wants Public To Name It America's Favorite Farmers Market

TARRYTOWN, NY — American Farmland Trust and the Farmers Market Coalition are giving away $10,000 in prizes to the nation's favorite farmers markets.

Past winners include the Columbia Farmers Market, Columbia, Missouri, in 2021; the Clarksville Downtown Market, Clarksville, Tennessee, in 2020, and the Troy Waterfront Farmers Market, Troy, Rensselaer County, in 2019.

The next winner could be TaSH Farmers Market if organizers can get out the vote.

The 14th annual America's Farmers Market Celebration is asking for people to vote for their favorite farmers market through Sept. 19.

The summer-long event is a fun competition that helps farmers markets across the country earn national recognition and local prestige.

Markets can join the celebration and encourage their customers to vote, which is an excellent marketing tool and a pathway to winning a piece of the $10,000 prize pool.

In 2022, the trust has increased the total cash prizes to $10,000 and expanded the awards to cover the top five markets nationally (compared to the top three in past years). The breakdown of prize money is: $5,000 for first, $2,500 for second, $1,500 for third, $750 for fourth and $250 for fifth.
