Police: Tossed Bottle Stirs Tensions

Police responded to a call over a bottle dispute in Sleepy Hollow that nearly led to a fight in Tarrytown.

A bottle thrown led to a man getting grazed by car, Tarrytown police report.

A caller reported to police on March 30 at 10:02 p.m. being involved in a verbal dispute with someone at the intersection of Central Avenue and North Broadway.

Officers on the scene were told that the man had been parked in his car at Sleepy Hollow High School when a car bearing NY plates pulled into the parking lot. One of the multiple unknown occupants allegedly threw what appeared to be a glass bottle toward the car and sped away.

The driver followed the other car into Tarrytown and stopped them at Central and North Broadway. Words were exchanged, and the man’s friend attempted to keep the other car from leaving. He said that the car struck the friend as the car fled the scene but he was not injured and refused any further medical attention.

The complainant refused any further police action regarding the bottle thrown and requested that the incident be noted for the record.
