Town Encourages Greenburgh Residents To Conserve Water
The town of Greenburgh is currently in a moderate drought period.
GREENBURGH, NY — In spite of the recent rain, residents of Greenburgh are being encouraged to conserve water.
Town Supervisor Paul Feiner said the area remains severely low on rainfall this summer, as evidenced by browning grass and trees that look like it's already autumn.
"The upstate reservoir network that provides our greater metropolitan area drinking water is under its normal capacity," he said, "so when you try to save your lawn or overuse water in other ways in your home or business, you risk further depleting our precious drinking water resources."
