
Police are investigating an incident of fourth-degree criminal mischief in which someone smashed the front passenger-side window of a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu parked in a lot at Ward Melville High School. The incident, reported Oct. 10, happened sometime between 5:15 p.m. and 6 p.m.
A homeowner on Franklin Ave. in East Setauket reported that someone broke a hole in his fence sometime between 12 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Oct. 7.
A resident of Sturrock Way in Stony Brook reported that two tires were slashed on a 2006 BMW parked in the driveway of the home sometime between 9 p.m. on Oct. 10 and 7 a.m. on Oct. 11.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Allen Brown II, 30, of East Setauket, was arrested Oct. 7 in Centereach and charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor. During a traffic stop on southbound Nicolls Rd., police discovered a set of stolen license plates in the trunk of Brown's vehicle. Police also charged him with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle with 10 or more license suspensions.
