Crime Report: Cops Investigate Thefts in Three Village

A rundown of criminal incidents in Stony Brook and the Setaukets.

The Suffolk County Police Department reported the following incidents between Dec. 1 and Dec. 7:

  • A resident of Hargrove Drive in Stony Brook reported Dec. 1 at 1 p.m. that someone had stolen assorted landscaping tools from a pickup truck parked in front of the house. The incident is being investigated as a case of fourth-degree grand larceny.
  • A male customer at 7-Eleven on Pond Path in Setauket reported Dec. 1 at 1 a.m. that he had left his wallet on the counter and it was gone when he went back to retrieve it. The incident is being investigated as a case of fourth-degree grand larceny.
  • A resident of Setauket reported Dec. 7 at 1 p.m. that someone entered the house through a window and stole jewelry. The incident is being investigated as a case of second-degree burglary.
  • A resident of Lake Street in Setauket reported Dec. 7 at 7:30 a.m. that someone forced open a rear sliding door, but nothing was stolen. According to a police report, the resident believes the dog scared the person away. The incident is being investigated as a case of second-degree burglary.
