Do You Agree With How the Administration Handled Cheating Incident?

Last spring, administrators at Ward Melville High School discovered students in two AP History classes allegedly cheated on homework assignments by logging into one student's Moodle account.

The school launched an investigation that included interviewing students and analyzing IP addresses, eventually docking grades as disciplinary action according to some angry parents, though the district would not confirm that in this week's report in The Village Times Herald. Last week, the district sent out a letter explaining the incident, the steps taken, and what was learned from the incident: administrators "believe this experience will help our students acquire the skills and wherewithal to protect their digital lives," principal Alan Baum was quoted in the newspaper's report as saying. But some parents say the district mishandled the incident.
