The museum's chairman Ernie Canadeo said the organization's staffers are "thrilled" to have found "a permanent home in such a wonderful location," said Ernie Canadeo.

“We’re excited to be able to share our world-class displays and unique memorabilia collection that showcases Long Island’s rich and diverse musical and entertainment history in new and exciting ways," he stated in a news release from the organization.

"We feature different and exciting exhibits, displays, videos, and education offerings that make the center a dynamic place for people to visit on a regular basis," he stated.

Dr. Patrick O’Shaughnessy, president and CEO of Catholic Health Services of Long Island, which has been a strong supporter and sponsor of the hall, called the project a "unique cultural destination," saying he supports its mission to highlight the region’s music and entertainment legends while inspiring the next generation to build on Long Island’s cultural legacy through its local community educational and scholarship programs.”

“We also look forward to partnering on a very special program combining music, entertainment, and health to be announced in early 2023,” he added.

The first exhibit, which was created by world-renowned designer Kevin O’Callaghan, titled “Long Island’s Legendary Club Scene – 1960s-1980s,” is designed to be a club crawl through the legendary 60s, 70s, and 80s club scene.

It features not only replicas of clubs, with videos of artists performing, but also ads, posters, instruments, and an exact replica of a typical 1960s stage, with vintage equipment and a sound system. There is also a permanent Hall of Fame with plaques and exhibits recognizing over 120 inductees, as well as areas for a library, classrooms for educational programs like master classes, a surround-sound theater, and a gift shop with music and entertainment-themed memorabilia.

The museum will be open Wednesdays to Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. Admission prices are $19.50 for adults, $17 for seniors over 65 and veterans, and $15 for students with valid identification. Children under 12 can enter for free.
