Memorial Day Service Planned For Long Island State Veterans Home On Friday
U.S. Rep. Nick LaLota will make the keynote address.
STONY BROOK, NY — A Memorial Day service will be held at the Long Island State Veterans Home in Stony Brook on Friday.
The service will include a color guard, taps memorial, a wreath-laying presentation, and the tolling of the bells.

U.S. Rep. Nick LaLota will make the keynote address to veterans and residents of the Long Island State Veterans Home. The event will also be attended by Fred Sganga, executive director of the Long Island State Veterans Home; U.S. Rep. Anthony D'Esposito, State Sen. Anthony Palumbo; and assemblymen Michael Fitzpatrick, Doug Smith, and Ed Flood.
Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, as well as other local elected officials and veterans home residents, and many veteran service organizations, will be in attendance.

The event will run from 2 to 3 p.m. inside the home's multi-purpose room.
