Report: County Considering Buying Detmer Property for Park Purposes
Village Times Herald reports that the land west of the post office on Route 25A could become a park.

The vacant lot that's for sale next to the East Setauket U.S. Post Office on Route 25A may have a future as a park, according to a report published Thursday in The Village Times Herald.
The county legislature unanimously adopted a resolution on Oct. 9 that would "[allow] our division of real estate in the planning department to secure appraisals to see if there's interest with the owners," Suffolk Legis. Kara Hahn, D-Setauket, told The Village Times Herald.
The property is currently for sale by owners Irene Detmer and Alice Halliday, who did not comment, but whom Hahn said have expressed an interest in selling to the county.
