Ward Melville football falls to Bay Shore; Stony Brook tops Wyandanch.

Stony Brook University 27, Coastal Carolina 21: Miguel Maysonet set a new career high of 233 yards and scored two touchdowns, while Kyle Essington threw for 181 yards and two touchdowns as the Seawolves (6-1, 2-0 Big South) won their second conference matchup. Kevin Norrell made seven catches for 127 yards with a touchdown, and Jordan Gush caught two passes for 50 yards and a touchdown.

Maysonet said the team simply executed its game plan. "We ran extremely hard in the second half," he said. "We had some great blocking up front in a game that went down to the wire."

Next up for the Seawolves: Gardner-Webb visits LaValle Stadium on Oct. 20 at 4 p.m.

Bay Shore 27, Ward Melville 21: According to MSG Varsity, Jake Biro threw touchdown passes of 89 yards, 22 yards and 7 yards for the Patriots, who fell to 4-2. Bay Shore is 2-4.

Stony Brook School 14, Wyandanch 6: According to an MSG Varsity report, Wyandanch (2-4) led by 6 at halftime, but quarterback Marco Masakayan scored on a 17-yard run to tie the score in the third quarter. Don Liotine later scored on a 1-yard run for the win. Liotine totaled 138 yards on 27 carries. Coverage by corner back Ben Fye prevented Wyandanch from tying the score in the final seconds of the game to seal the win for Stony Brook (5-1).
