STONY BROOK, NY — Stony Brook Medicine officials are in the process of developing full guidance for campus facilities as it relates to federal immigration enforcement, a spokeswoman told Patch Wednesday.

Officials released preliminary guidance after questions from staff, and they expect full guidance from the State University of New York system in the coming weeks, she said.

Faculty and staff were directed to only allow U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents access to Stony Brook Medicine's facilities after the health system’s legal counsel has validated their warrant or subpoena, according to a report in Newsday.
