Officer Responding To Call Injured In Suffolk Crash: Police
His patrol car had its lights activated when it collided with a Toyota on Mooney Pond Road Sunday night, Suffolk police said.
CORAM, NY — A police officer responding to a call was involved in a crash in Coram on Sunday, Suffolk police said.
The officer, who is assigned to the 6th Precinct, was responding to a call with lights and sirens activated while traveling southbound on County Road 83 when his vehicle collided with a 1997 Toyota SUV that was traveling eastbound on Mooney Pond Road at around5:40 p.m., according to police.
The officer was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for minor injuries, police said. The 63-year-old man who was driving the Toyota, was not injured and a 34-year-old man, who was his passenger, was treated at the scene and declined further medical attention, according to police.
