Target In Selden Holds Grand Opening Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
Store set to officially open on Sunday.

A small-format Target store in Selden held a store preview and ribbon-cutting ceremony yesterday, gearing up for its grand opening on Sunday.
The store, which is set to open in Independence Plaza by Middle Country and Boyle roads, will be Target's fourth small-format store on Long Island.

The 54,300 square-foot store will feature:

- grocery selection with a focus on wellness offerings, including fresh produce, grab-and-go items, snacks and meal solutions
- an elaborate Essentials & Beauty assortment tailored to families with kids
- an adult beverage selection, including beer
- an assortment of home decor and accessories
- apparel and accessories for men, women and kids, including offerings from new Target-exclusive brands A New Day and Goodfellow & Co.
- portable technology products and entertainment accessories
- a selection of toys and sporting goods
- services will include a CVS Pharmacy and Starbucks as well as Order Pickup
Target's small-format store assortments are customized to meet the needs of local guests.

"This small-format store in Selden, NY will provide more options to Long Island guests, with a convenient, one-stop shopping experience customized to their neighborhood," Mark Schindele, senior vice president, Properties, Target said. "Our Selden store will offer residents a curated assortment of grocery needs, home goods, apparel and more. We are eager to expand our presence in Long Island and become an active partner in the Selden community."

Target has signed a lease with Kimco Realty for the Selden store, which will employ a total of 60 team members.

"It was great to join Target's management team and their 90 new employees at the friends and family grand opening this evening," Brookhaven Town Councilman Kevin LaValle said on Facebook. "A big thank you to the property owner and the Target management team for working in collaboration with the town to make this new store possible!"
"Target's new Long Island small-format store will be a great addition to the Selden community," LaValle said in September. "Local residents will have a new retail option to shop, and at the same time, Target will bring new jobs to the area. I am pleased to welcome Target into Council District 3."
Last October, a small-format Target opened up in Port Washington.
