  1. Three cars were stolen straight out of the driveways in Fort Solonga. The vehicles were stolen by three different thieves at the same day and time on Monday. Police tracked one of the cars and found it in New Jersey. Investigators said they used a key fob inside the cars that use a keyless start. Anyone with any information on the thefts is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. (News12)
  2. Stony Brook University students performed classic Christmas songs for patients at Children's Hospital. Children had a chance to hear their favorite Christmas songs performed by SBU carolers. Daria Carioscia, development officer for the Staller Center of the Arts, said with the help of funding from Island Federal, the organization was able to continue its music outreach, "The Instrument Petting Zoo" program.   3. Ali Khosronejad, an assistant professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Stony Brook University, received $2 million as part of a $9.7 million four-year Department of Energy grant to study and develop ways to turn the movement of water into usable energy. The funds will support hiring researchers at different levels, from post-doctoral scientists, to graduate and undergraduate students. (TBRNews)
  4. Long Island mom opens boutique in son's memory. Tova Keblish wanted to honor the memory of her son, Gavin Keblish, who was 23 years old when he died unexpectedly from an overdose in 2016. The shop sells mostly inspirational and spiritual items and is located at 333 Main St. in Center Moriches. (Newsday)
