- Stony Brook Jazz Loft is planning another event for all jazz lovers! The “Young At Heart: Kansas City Swing” is set for Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 1 p.m. and features the jazz style created in Kansas City during the decades of the 20s and 30s. Tickets are $10 per person. (Patch Events)

- Nearby News: A video of catalytic converter thieves has been released by police. Two suspects stole the catalytic from a car parked on a residence's driveway on Walnut Avenue in Ronkonkoma. This type of crime keeps rising on Long Island. Police are asking for the public's help to identify the pair. (News12)

- Attention future home buyers, look at five new houses available in the market in the Three Village area. (Patch)
- The Ward Melville Heritage Organization is hosting the "Patriots and Poultices: A Family Fun Experience" at the Thompson House on October 22.
