- Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone and Suffolk County Police had a press conference to remind residents to keep vehicles locked after a wave of car thefts across Long Island. Since Dec. 19, Suffolk police responded to eight incidents which the cars were unlocked or in with the key fob inside. (Long Island News)
- Staller Center for the Arts in Stony Brook has Spring 2022 calendar available. Tickets for the Spring season are now available and among the shows are the internationally kwon Emerson String Quartet, the diverse and inclusive "Complexions Dance" group and Jazz band "The Hot Sardines". - The owner of a Three Village staple is closing the doors of her business permanently. Audrey Hebert-DiNiro plans to close Hamlet Pet Food & Supply Co. in the new year. The Hamlet Pet Food shelves are emptying out as Hebert-DiNiro says it difficult to order products. The pet food store opened at 732 North Country Road in Setauket 30 years ago. Hebert-DiNiro said after three decades, she was hoping she wouldn’t have to worry about keeping her store going. However, through the years, websites such as Chewy and Amazon have taken business away from her. (TBRNews)
- Theatre Three in Port Jefferson is hosting a comedy night on News Year's Eve. New Year’s Laughin’ Eve lineup will include Eric Haft, Joe DeVito and a surprise guest comedian. Hosted by Paul Anthony. The doors will open at 6 p.m. at Theatre Three, 412 Main St., Port Jefferson and again at 8 p.m. Tickets for the early bird show are $50, tickets to the prime time show are $65.
