The jewelry creation process is very unique: "The glass is melted into a mold and then cooled and cleaned reproducing the shapes and colors to be placed into the metal bezels." (smithtownmatters.com)
2. A Stony Brook graduate nurse practitioner opened a clinic in Amityville to help the community to narrow the gap of racial disparities in health care. Dr. Tia Knight-Forbes is a longtime resident of Amityville. 3. Setauket Elementary School physical education teacher Stephanie Peragallo has been awarded the 2021 Future Professional of the Year. The nomination was given by the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance. In a statement, Executive Director of the Health Education Department Kevin Finnerty said, "Ms. Peragallo has been an excellent addition to our physical education department, and this award she earned last year is a testament to her potential as a teacher and solidifies our decision in hiring her."
