- Route 25A in the Three Village area is being the focus of discussion in the Brookhaven Town Board Meetings. Discussions about road improvements started back in 2006. A visioning report was created with recommendations and a plan to build a safer roadway and a bicycle path but the project waits for codes. (tbrnewsmedia)
- Suffolk police released the identification of the woman who lost her life during a home blaze in Setauket. Lisa Ostrowski, 31, lived with her husband, Stephen Ortner, 30, and their son Leo Ortner at 360 Old Town Road. The husband was able to escape through a window and handed the baby to a person outside the house. Lisa was found dead on the second floor after the flames were controlled by the firefighters. Stephen and Leo were transported to Stony Brook Hospital. The cause of the fire is under investigation but police confirmed that is not a criminal case. (smithtownmatters.com)
- Three Village Central School District celebrated P.S. I Love You Day, which is an initiative to bring awareness of mental health and decrease bullying. Students spread messages around the school's halls and focused on suicide prevention and awareness. A special photo booth was also part of the celebration and commemorative photos were taken. (TVSD)
- Theatre Three in Port Jefferson will open auditions for all roles in the ABBA musical Mamma Mia! From March 3-8 strong actors, singers and dancers will be welcome to show their talents participating in the selection process for the musical. The Performances will be held from May 21 to June 25. - Nearby News: The family of Detective Dennis Wustenhoff still looking for answers. On Feb. 15, 1990, Wustenhoff was killed by a car bomb in front of his North Patchogue home. After 32 years, the police still have no lead of who is responsible for the detective's death and the case remains unsolved. (News12)
