- Stony Brook Hospital Changes Visitation Policy due COVID-19. The new policy went into effect on Tuesday at Stony Brook University, SB Southampton, and SB Eastern LI Hospitals. Visitors are not permitted at the emergency department at the SB Southampton Hospital. support persons are still allowed for patients in labor and delivery, as well as for pediatric patients. - Three Village Chamber of Commerce will host a webinar for small business owners. On Jan. 19, at 1 p.m. village's business owners will have a chance to learn how to avoid banking scams. Among speakers are John McGregor from Island Federal Credit Union and Nicole Sarno from Sterling Bank. The meeting will be via zoom. Click on the ling for more info. - Nearby News: Man arrested in fatal stabbing of West Babylon woman. Kisjonne Campbell-Anderson, 24, is facing second-degree murder charges for fatally stabbing Michaelle Jaccis, 21, on last Saturday. They got involved in a arguments outside Micaelle's home when the crime occurred. She was transported to a local hospital but was declared dead. (Newsday/ Subscription Needed)
- Stony Brook doctor encourages practices to improve mental health. Taking care of the body will go a long way to improve a person mental healthy. During these challenging times, Dr. Adam Gonzalez from SBU gives tips about how to keep a body and mind healthy. "Practice mindfulness and relaxation strategies to help slow down our minds and be more present in the moment and really enjoy life and do things that are important to us, helps to improve not just the body but mental health." Hochul reported in a release that the positive COVID-19 test results reached 85,476 on Friday, along with 88 more deaths." (News 12 Bronx) - Port Jefferson Fire Department: "Just after midnight the Port Jefferson Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident at the corner of Myrtle Ave and Belle Terre Rd. The impact caused a small engine compartment fire which was handled by Engine 2, while the vehicle was secured by Rescue 7. The driver was treated and transported to local area hospital by Port Jefferson EMS. In 2021 PJFD responded to 471 alarms. We are proud to serve the Village of Port Jefferson for the past 135 years."
