  1. Three Village School District announced the lottery applications for the 2022-23 school year are now open. To apply, students must be registered in the district with an ID number to be considered in the lottery. Applications will be available until Feb. 18. For more information, click here.   2. AARP will not hold in-person classes at Emma Clark Memorial Library until the COVID-19 situation improves. Defensive driving classes for January and February are, most likely, canceled. The library will announce the final decision on Jan. 18. Until then, classes will not be open for registration. (Emma C. Library)
  3. Nearby News: A driver was killed in a car accident on Northern State Parkway. On Thursday afternoon a vehicle crashed into two trees and a pole east of Brush Hollow Road in Westbury, the driver died from his injuries. The driver was not identified, and State Police is asking for anyone with any information to call 631-756-3300. (Newsday)

  • "While a Whole Foods Market is slated for Huntington Shopping Center, longtime tenants Buy Buy Baby, Five Guys, and Applebee’s are departing. Located on Route 110, at 350 Walt Whitman Road, the shopping center is undergoing a $75 million redevelopment that is expected to be finished in 2024, according to the property’s owner, Federal Realty Investment Trust."
