Today in Three Village:

  • TVTA Scholarship Fund (Napper Tandy’s). (3 p.m.)
  • MS/HS Progress Reports Posted — Port Jefferson School District. (All Day)
  • Norwood Read Across America Week — Comsewogue School District. (All Day)

From my notebook:

  • "Patchogue Village Trustee Joseph Keyes wants designs for a new summer play space for Patchogue’s children. The Board of Trustees approved Keyes’ request last month to authorize Rimkunas Engineering to design a splash pad at the Pool and Beach Club on Maiden Lane. The board approved services from the Huntington-based firm with costs not exceeding $63,650. For the unfamiliar, a splash pad is essentially an interactive fountain where children socialize, play, and cool off in a safe public space under the summer sun." (Greater Long Island)
  • Three Village Historical Society: "This is truly heartbreaking. Today, while clearing out the building site of the new Dominick-Crawford Barn, getting ready for our groundbreaking ceremony this Saturday, we noticed that some of our barn wood had been taken. (Facebook)
  • Stony Brook University: "Three accomplished alumni are helping us kick off our Women's History Month opening ceremony this Monday, March 7 at 1 p.m. Join as they discuss their achievements, breaking the bias, and promoting social action for equality." (Facebook)
