- Three Village Historical Society launches the Dominick-Crawford Barn Exhibit & Education Center project. The goal is to use elements from the original 1847 barn to the new building, named The Dominick-Crawford Barn Exhibit & Education Center. The new structure will be located in the 2.26-acre field at the Society’s headquarters on 93 N. Country Road in Setauket. Click on the link to learn the project details and to donate. (TVHS)

- Esther S. Takeuchi, Ph.D., who is a professor at Stony Brook University, is being honored by the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) and will receive the Award in Chemical Sciences. This award represents her efforts and recognition for her contributions to the understanding of electrochemical energy storage. (tbrnewsmedia)
- Port Jefferson Library will host an Empowerment & Enlightenment/ Financial, Legal & Real Estate Class. The class is set for March 9, at 7 p.m. Jaclyn Kramer, Sharlene Jamison and Raquel Fernandez will teach about estate planning, new financing laws, etc. The library is located at 100 Thompson St., Port Jefferson. - Timothy Heaton, a retired correctional officer, was released from Saint Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson on Tuesday, after a long battle against COVID-19. Heaton was hospitalized in September 2021. During his journey, he had pneumonia and was in a coma for six weeks and now, after five months, he is finally back at his home in Medford. (News12)
