- Three Village Historical Society is accepting applications for the ones who would like to volunteer as a docent. Do you like local history? if so, consider volunteering as a tour docent in the TVHS Museum. Email our Director, Mari Irizarry at director@tvhs.org. (TVHS)
- The Stony Brook University softball team had a blast from Friday night into Saturday as it picked up two more wins to improve to 4-0 on the young season. The Seawolves won against South Dakota, 7-0, in the first game of the day and then again in a 4-3 victory over Brown in game two. Graduate pitcher Dawn Bodrug led the Seawolves to their first win of the day as she tossed a complete-game shutout in the 7-0 win over South Dakota. (SBUA)
- Staller Center in Stony Brook will host its Annual Gala on March, 12 at 8 p.m. The event will feature classical music superstars Yo-Yo Ma (Cello), Emanuel Ax (piano), and Leonidas Kavakos (violin) who will take center stage at Staller Center for the Arts during the celebration. (Broadway World)

- Nearby News: Suffolk Police are investigating a car accident that claimed two lives on Feb. 27 around 3:35 a.m. A Honda was being driven southbound on Route 111 when it hit an oil tanker truck at the intersection of Ironwood Street. The driver of the Honda and the passenger were pronounced dead at the scene, the truck driver had no injuries. The victims have not yet been identified by police. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Third Squad at 631-854-8352. (smithtownmatters.com)
