  1. The Three Village Inn's employees and contractors performed a deep clean to have the inn ad restaurant back up and functioning on Thursday, Dec. 23. The establishment was closed because damages caused by a flood in the basement but now, is open again. The Three Village Inn and Mirabelle Restaurant and Tavern is located at 150 Main Street in Stony Brook village. Reservations can be made by calling 631-751-0555. (TBRNews)
  2. Omicron variant is canceling holiday plans for tons of travelers - but it didn’t do much damage to holiday shopping. Lots of flights were canceled on Christmas weekend but shoppers shrugged off the omicron variant, and holiday sales rose at the fastest pace in 17 years, according to one spending measure. (News12)
  3. Temple Isaiah of Stony Brook celebrate the synagogue’s 56-year history. On Dec. 18, about 30 congregants attended an in-person event at Temple. It was the first such event planned since the COVID-19 pandemic began. (TBRNews)
  4. Port Jefferson’s Charles Dickens Festival has come to a close for this year, with amazing plans already being made for the 26th celebration in 2022. Sadly, Santa’s Workshop, will not be returning. The historic Phillips Roe House, aka the Drowned Meadow House located on the corner of Barnum Avenue and West Broadway, which has played host to the workshop all these years, is officially becoming a year-round museum.
