Three Village School District to Turn Down 'Race to the Top' Funds
Interim superintendent says it's not worth the effort, Newsday reports.

The Three Village Central School district is among a handful of school districts on Long Island that are turning down federal Race to the Top funding, Newsday reported Wednesday.
Three Village was set to receive $30,176 over four years, which would have been about $7,500 per year – an amount which interim superintendent Neil Lederer called "laughable." The cost to implement the Race to the Top initiatives didn't make sense in light of the size of the grant, he said.
"It was minuscule, and the amount of paperwork involved in documenting how the money was used would have cost us more in labor ... and in record-keeping than it was worth," he told Newsday.
