Toys For Tots Collection Underway In East Setauket

Assemb. Ed Flood's office is spearheading a collection for the Marine Corps Reserve's longtime holiday program this season.

EAST SETAUKET, NY — Toys will be collected at Assembl. Ed Flood's district office in East Setauket until Dec. 10 as part of an initiative with the Marine Corps Reserve's Toys for Tots program.

The program has been helping disadvantaged families for nearly 30 years and the assemblyman says he "is proud to partner with the organization and spread joy during this difficult economic time."

Flood noted how the holidays "can be a difficult time for families" so he is partnering up with Toys for Tots "to lend a helping hand during an especially expensive economic point in our lives."

“I hope our community can come together and offer to help others with a donated gift to make a child smile during this holiday season," he said. "All children deserve to feel special and together our community can help make a difference. Please reach out if you or someone you know needs assistance during the holidays.”

The district office will be collecting new, unwrapped toys at 149 Main St. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday until Dec. 10.
