Students taking explorations in technology at Ward Melville High School in the Three Village Central School District have recently completed a service-learning project to help their peers.

Mr. Flaiz and his students created custom footrests to help Mrs. Fenigstein provide her speech language students with adequate foot and postural support. Research has shown that how you sit can impact your ability to concentrate, process and remember new information, as well as improve self-confidence in learning.

Throughout this project, the technology students worked on improving their measuring, cutting, fastening, sanding and laser logo engraving skills. They were excited to create something that will be utilized for years to come.
