Ward Melville JV Cheerleaders Give Back on 9/11

The team spent a day bringing good cheer to the veterans at Setauket's VFW Hall.

The Ward Melville junior varsity cheerleaders recently joined veterans at the Setauket VFW Hall to commemorate 9/11 in a positive way, performing a patriotic cheer for the veterans and together making an American flag out of painted handprints for the VFW Hall to display.

"It was nice to visit, say thank you and bring joy to men who fought for our freedom," said Darian Amato, one of the cheerleaders.

The cheerleaders recently visited a local retirement home to spend an afternoon with the residents, part of a series of outreach events to thank the community for its continued support of the team.
