Ward Melville Students Accused of Cheating on Homework

Newsday reports students in two Advanced Placement classes at WMHS may have gained unauthorized access to another student's online homework account.

According to a report published Friday in Newsday, the Three Village Central School District is investigating Ward Melville students in two sections of an Advanced Placement course who may have cheated on homework assignments.

Interim superintendent Neil Lederer told Newsday in a statement that "an 11th grade student's Moodle account, which is used for classroom homework assignments, has been subjected to unauthorized access by a number of students in two sections of an AP class."

Lederer declined to say how many students were involved but called the incident a serious code of conduct violation.
