The move will raise taxes but aims to cut long ambulance wait times and strengthen mutual aid across Rensselaer County communities that work closely with Troy’s emergency services.

Parole visit puts three behind bars on felony gun charges (cbs6albany.com) — A Troy resident is among three men facing felony gun charges after parole officers and Albany County deputies say they found a loaded handgun with a large-capacity magazine during a home visit in Watervliet. The men, from Troy, Watervliet, and Rensselaer, were taken to Albany County Correctional Facility and are scheduled for arraignment in Watervliet Court.
   

5. Spotlight on Youth: Master gardeners award scholarship goes to outstanding high school senior (unionnewsdaily.com) — A Union County, N.J., horticulture student has earned the 2025 Master Gardener Scholarship and is now studying civil engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy. His award recognizes years of environmental science work, leadership in Future Farmers of America, and a strong commitment to sustainability.
