2 Fires Break Out Within Minutes On Upper East Side, FDNY Says
The two fires broke out Friday afternoon within two minutes in buildings located just blocks away.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Two fires broke out Friday afternoon on the Upper East Side, injuring at least four people, an FDNY spokesman said.
The fires broke out within minutes of each other in 325 E. 73rd St. and 433 E. 75th St. — located about 10 minutes apart on foot — an FDNY spokesman said. The 325 E. 73rd St. fire broke out at 3:44 p.m. and the 433 E. 75th St. fire broke out at 3:46 p.m., the spokesman said.
Three people suffered minor injures at the fire on East 75th Street, which was put under control around 4:40, an FDNY spokesman said. The injured people were taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center. The East 75th Street fire started in the five-story building's first floor and spread to the third floor, an FDNY spokesman said.

One person suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries at the East 73rd Street fire and was transported to Cornell Medical Center, an FDNY spokesman said. The fire, which broke out in the building's basement, was placed under control shortly after 5 p.m., fire officials said.
The causes of both fires are unknown and under investigation, an FDNY spokesman said.
