3 Suffer Minor Injuries in Overnight Fire on Upper East Side
A fire that broke out at 2 a.m. near 87th Street sent three people to the hospital for minor injuries.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Three people suffered minor injuries in a two-alarm fire which broke out on the Upper East Side just after 2 a.m. on Thursday, according to the FDNY.
The fire broke out in a fourth floor apartment at 1562 Third Avenue, between 87th and 88th streets, at 2:10 a.m. with a heavy FDNY response. The blaze took three hours to get under control, with the fire spreading to the fifth floor of the apartment building, a fire official said.
Three residents of the building were taken to Lenox Hill Hospital with minor injuries, the FDNY said.

The five-story building has a Hale and Hearty restaurant located on the first floor and four floors of residence above.
