UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A 100-year-old building on York Avenue has been slated for demolition, according to a report from Crain's New York Business.
According to the report, Stahl Organization, the owner of the building at 1221 York Ave. between East 66th Street and East 65th Street, wants to demolish the six-story building and replace it with a modern building up to 30 stories tall.
The building currently has 82 units and about half of them still have tenants in them, according to Crain's. Many of the units are rent-stabilized, Crain's said.
