77-Year-Old Stuck By Hit-And-Run Driver On Upper East Side: Police
The man suffered injuries to his head and leg after being hit on Thursday just steps from the Queensboro Bridge, officials said.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A driver slammed into a 77-year-old pedestrian Thursday morning, and then sped off while the injured man lay confused and wounded on the ground, police said.
The man walking on East 60th Street near Second Avenue, just steps from the Queensboro Bridge, about 10:15 a.m. when a driver behind the wheel of an unknown car smashed into him, officials said.
As the driver fled the violent scene, the 77-year-old man lay on the ground with serious wounds to his head and leg, police said.

When officers and medics arrived to the scene, the victim was awake and aware, but police said he was "confused" and could not recall any details surrounding his injuries — including the make, model or color of the car and where exactly he was struck.
Medics rushed the man to New York Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition.

Police said they currently do not have a lead on the car and the investigation remains ongoing.
